Authorities have released the names of the five people killed in a Friday morning head-on collision on Interstate 40, about 14 miles southwest of Kingman. The Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) said the crash occurred after 9:06 a.m. when a 2010 Nissan sedan traveling in the wrong direction eastbound in the westbound lanes of Interstate 40 struck a 2015 Honda sedan. DPS said the driver of the wrong way vehicle, 82-year-old Harold Wayne Wickham, and his passenger Ella Wickham, 90, both of Laughlin, Nevada were dead at the scene of the crash. BNSF Railway will be performing work that requires street closures on May 28 and May 29. The street closures will be at the railroad crossings at 2nd Street and 4th St. at Andy Devine Avenue. Detour signage will be set up to alert the motoring public.

Sounds of Kingman’s second free concert in their summer series has been rescheduled due to rain. Come out to see the music group Lonesome Dick on Sunday, June 2 at 4 p.m. in Metcalfe Park, corner of Beale and Grandview, in downtown Kingman. The concert is sponsored by Taco Bell.

All city offices and facilities, Aquatic/Community Center, and Havasu Mobility are closed on Monday, May 27, in observance of Memorial Day. As always, police and fire personnel are on duty, however, administrative offices are closed. Trash and recycling services are not interrupted.  All City offices resume normal schedules on Tuesday, May 28.
