BLM announces Bullfrog Day-Use Recreation Area available for recreation access

The Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) Lake Havasu Field Office has completed a four-month construction project to replace a failing retaining wall at Bullfrog Day-Use Recreation Area. The recreation area will be available for public use starting Friday, April 5. The infrastructure improvement project addressed structural concerns with the retaining wall, which was built in 1968 and was failing. Old fashioned Sock Hop is April 27

The Kathryne Heidenreich Adult Center (KHAC) will host a Sock Hop on Saturday, April 27 from 1 to 3 p.m. Entry is $5 per person. All are welcome and encouraged to make the scene appropriate with period clothing (not mandatory) from the 1950s and 1960s. Music will be provided by Moonlight Savoy and will feature period tunes. Traditional soda fountain fare will be available for purchase including hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad, fruit, desserts, and beverages. All the King’s Men featured at Movie Night

The Kathryn Heidenreich Adult Center (KHAC) will feature All the King’s Men (1949) at its monthly Movie Night on Friday, April 26 beginning at 6 p.m. A $2 donation is suggested. The film, starring Broderick Crawford and John Ireland, details the rise and fall of a corrupt politician who makes his friends richer and retains power by force of a populist appeal. Day in the Park presented at Rotary meeting

At its March 22 meeting, Kingman Route 66 Rotary Club had as its featured speaker Linda Williams, Kingman Regional Medical Center Pharmacist. Williams spoke on Kingman’s upcoming “Day in the Park”, scheduled for Saturday, April 13 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Centennial Park. This free event promotes healthy living by encouraging participants to walk the path at Centennial Park and along the way to visit vendor booths for tips and information about health and wellness in our community. Included will be live fitness demonstrations, raffles and prizes for participants.

KHAC announces monthly dinner

The Kathryn Heidenreich Adult Center (KHAC) will host its monthly dinner on Thursday, April 11 beginning at 4 p.m. until the food is gone. Suggested donation is $6.50 and goes toward the center’s no-charge programs. This month’s menu is ham, potato salad, raisin sauce or pineapple, French-style green beans, deviled eggs, dinner rolls, beverage, and dessert. Dessert is provided by Beacon of Hope Hospice.
