KINGMAN – Join the City of Kingman, Kingman Police Department, Mohave County Sheriff Department and Kingman Fire Department  on Wednesday, Oct. 16, in their 13th Annual Walk Away From Drugs & Public Safety Expo. This will be happening at three starting points: Smith’s Food and Drug, Firefighter Park and Mother Road Harley Davidson. The ending point will be Centennial Park near the north softball fields. Search for new police chief begins; Devries to retire next May

KINGMAN – Finding a new police chief will be Ron Foggins’ first major personnel task during his tenure as Kingman City Manager. Kingman Police Department Chief Bob Devries will end a 40-year law enforcement career when he retires early next May. Drug dealer gets five-year sentence

KINGMAN – A Lake Havasu City drug dealer was sentenced to a five-year prison term Wednesday. The punishment Mohave County Superior Court Judge Derek Carlisle imposed for Chad Van Allen, 32, was mandated in a plea agreement. Van Allen pleaded guilty to possession of dangerous drugs for sale, possession of narcotic drugs for sale and manufacturing dangerous drugs. Van Allen possessed about 28 grams of methamphetamine when arrested at his place of employment last December, according to Lake Havasu City police.
