KINGMAN – Join the City of Kingman, Kingman Police Department, Mohave County Sheriff Department and Kingman Fire Department on Wednesday, Oct. 16, in their 13th Annual Walk Away From Drugs & Public Safety Expo. This will be happening at three starting points: Smith’s Food and Drug, Firefighter Park and Mother Road Harley Davidson. The ending point will be Centennial Park near the north softball fields. Hot dogs and refreshments will be provided to participants by the Powerhouse Kiwanis & Moose Lodge 1704. KINGMAN – Finding a new police chief will be Ron Foggins’ first major personnel task during his tenure as Kingman City Manager. Kingman Police Department Chief Bob Devries will end a 40-year law enforcement career when he retires early next May. GOLDEN VALLEY – Let’s have some fun at the American Legion Art Day on Sunday, October 13 at 3 pm. This is a great place to go to and have a great time. They will be making clay sugar skulls and painting them for $20. You will be provided with everything you need to complete your project and take it home with you. Drug dealer gets five-year sentence

KINGMAN – A Lake Havasu City drug dealer was sentenced to a five-year prison term Wednesday. The punishment Mohave County Superior Court Judge Derek Carlisle imposed for Chad Van Allen, 32, was mandated in a plea agreement. Van Allen pleaded guilty to possession of dangerous drugs for sale, possession of narcotic drugs for sale and manufacturing dangerous drugs. Van Allen possessed about 28 grams of methamphetamine when arrested at his place of employment last December, according to Lake Havasu City police. Gun, Knife, Coin & Collectibles Show is this weekend

KINGMAN – Pioneer Country Events will host a Gun, Knife, Coin, & Collectibles Show at the Mohave County Fairgrounds, 2600 Fairgrounds Blvd., on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 12 and 13. Public show hours are Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Admission is $6 per day or $9 for both days. Children 13 and under are free with a paid adult ticket.
