The Bullhead Fire Department urges residents to exercise fire safety through the holiday season. According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), between 2013-2017, U.S. fire departments respond to an average of 160 home structure fires caused by Christmas trees. While responding to an estimated average of 780 home structure fires per year that began with decorations between 2013-2017. The NFPA advised that heat sources to close to the tree causes one in every four Christmas tree fires. KINGMAN – The Kingman Concert Band is revving up for its annual Christmas concert, “Home for the Holidays”, at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 14, at Kingman Presbyterian Church, 2425 Detroit Avenue.  Volunteer members of the community band will present “Home for the Holidays” celebrating the season through music featuring traditional, contemporary and jazz selection and their rendition of ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas. The Arizona Game and Fish Department’s proposed recommendations for 2020 and 2021 pronghorn, elk, fall turkey and population management hunts, and for 2021 and 2022 spring turkey hunts, are available for review at www.azgfd.gov/huntguidelines. KINGMAN –  For the Luv of Paws Domestic Animal Rescue & Sanctuary will host a Santa Paws Adoption Event in conjunction with Petco National Adoption Weekend on Sunday, Dec. 8 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Kingman Petco, across from Kingman Regional Medical Center. Adult dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens will be available for adoption. All pets are spayed or neutered and vaccinated. An adoption application including a home check and an adoption fee apply.
