$4.1 million in meth seized

Largest seizure in DPS history LITTLEFIELD – The largest single methamphetamine seizure in the history of the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) occurred last Friday, Jan. 24, in north Mohave County. DPS said 362 pounds of meth was seized after a trooper pulled over a vehicle on Interstate 15 just south of Littlefield at 8:20 p.m. An agency news release said the street value of the confiscated drugs is $4.1 million. MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave Community College is now one of the only colleges in the state with two Certified Financial Aid Administrators (CFAA). Heather Patenaude, Director of Financial Aid and Lisa Downey, Financial Aid Manager, have earned their certification by the National Association of Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA). Two men were rescued from a sea plane on the Colorado River near Lake Havasu last Friday, Jan. 24. Mohave County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Anita Mortensen said the agency received a report of an aircraft in the water at about 5:45 p.m. Mortensen said personnel responded to the Refuge area of the lake, north of the mouth of the Colorado River. KINGMAN – The outside right lane will be closed to vehicles travelling north bound at the intersection of Beale Street and Ella’s Place/Grandview Avenue for the continuing construction of the Andy Devine Avenue ADA improvements project.
