Officer-involved shooting ended in suicide

KINGMAN – The Kingman Police Department (KPD) has identified the victim and released more details of Wednesday’s deadly officer-involved shooting (OIS). The KPD is conducting an outside independent investigation of the incident, common practice in OIS incidents. Police spokeswoman Jennifer Sochocki identified the deceased as Buddy Dale Lott, 50, Kingman. She said the Mohave County Medical Examiner determined he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Sochocki said the suicidal gunshot occurred about 12:30 p.m. in north Kingman.  She said the incident evolved from earlier in the day when a Department of Public Safety officer tried to conduct a traffic stop. COVID-19 update: One death in Kingman today; 19 new cases

MOHAVE COUNTY – Late this afternoon, the Mohave County Health Department (MCDPH) Nursing staff was notified of 19 positive COVID-19 cases and one death in the Kingman area. Thirteen of the cases are in the Kingman service area; three are in the Lake Havasu City service area and three are in the North County (smaller communities).  The one death is of a 55-65 age range person, who is a previously identified case and is linked to a confirmed case. No injuries in mobile home blaze

BULLHEAD CITY – On Wednesday, May 13, at approximately 1:10 am, the Bullhead City Fire Department responded to the report of a structure fire on the 700 block of Morro Cove. The first arriving unit reported a single-wide mobile home on fire with heavy smoke showing. Engine 761 completed a quick survey around the structure confirming it was unoccupied and began a defensive fire attack. Battalion Chief Livermore arrived shortly after directing all other incoming units. City of Kingman EZ recycling program closes indefinitely

KINGMAN – Due to staffing concerns at the City of Kingman Public Works Department, the EZ Recycling program has been closed indefinitely. The City often relies on the Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation and Reentry (ADCRR) to fill some much-needed positions within our city departments, and beginning March 25, 2020, ADCRR decided to not allow inmate staffing in local municipalities, because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Two motorcycle crashes in Kingman

KINGMAN – On Monday, May 11th at approximately 1:05 p.m., Kingman Police Department (KPD) responded to a serious injury crash involving a passenger car which struck two motorcycles, at I-40 and E. Bullhead K-8 schools outline grading process during campus closure
