Mohave County Fair in jeopardy

KINGMAN – The annual Mohave County Fair could be the next victim of the pandemic. A subcommittee is recommending to the Fair Association governing board that most components of the Fair scheduled in mid-September be canceled. Fair Board President Jerry McGuire said the midway fun must be shut down because the vendor will not bring the carnival to Kingman due to coronavirus concerns. He said the subcommittee is also recommending that the buildings be closed to various exhibits and competitions that take place at the fair each year. MOHAVE COUNTY – Late Wednesday afternoon, the Mohave County Health Department (MCDPH) Nursing staff was notified of 62 new confirmed COVID-19 cases. There are 6 deaths from previously reported cases. Four are from the Lake Havasu City service area. One is in the 60-69 year age range; one is 70-79; two are 80-89. The other two are from the Bullhead City service area. Both are 80-89. MOHAVE COUNTY – Late Tuesday afternoon, the Mohave County Health Department (MCDPH) Nursing staff was notified of 65 new confirmed COVID-19 cases. There is also one death, a 70-79 person in the Bullhead City service area, a previously reported case. Thirty-four of the cases are in the Lake Havasu City service area. Missing 81-year-old found safe

KINGMAN – A Kingman missing persons case ended in a positive outcome. Investigation began when it was learned that Maria Emerson, 81, didn’t return to her Kingman residence in the 2600 block of Louise Ave., which she left on foot sometime Saturday, July 18. Concern was heightened because Emerson left her medications at home. Early investigation determined that she was seen exiting a public transportation bus near Walmart about 3:40 Saturday afternoon.
