Several hospitalized after ingesting Diamond “Shruumz” mushroom candy 

MOHAVE COUNTY – County Public Health has been notified of potential harm from “Diamond Shruumz” microdosing chocolates.  Individuals who consumed Diamond Shruumz-brand products reported a range of severe symptoms, including seizures, central nervous system depression (e.g., loss of consciousness, confusion, sleepiness), agitation, abnormal heart rates, hypertension or hypotension, and nausea and vomiting.

Investigation and damage assessments continue after Las Vegas Boat Harbor fire? 

BOULDER CITY, Nev. – Lake Mead National Recreation Area officials continue to investigate the fire that broke out early Sunday morning at the Las Vegas Boat Harbor. The fire damaged or destroyed several boats, as well as led to the closure of “I” and “R” docks at the marina where the fire took place.
Moving forward, park officials will work with agency partners to assess damage caused by the fire and address future cleanup, repair, and other salvage actions. This process is expected to continue for a minimum of several weeks.

Daughter charged in mom’s death

KINGMAN – A Mesa woman who served nine months in prison for abandoning her mother’s dead body has been indicted for killing her. A Mohave County Grand Jury on June 13 indicted Gabrielle Axon, 52, for second degree murder for the death of Brenda Marshall, 71.
Axon is also charged with theft, theft of means of transportation, two counts of credit card fraud and for taking the identity of another.

Stettler acquitted in ex-girlfriend’s death

KINGMAN – A Meadview man who spent more than ten months in custody awaiting trial gained freedom June 14 following acquittal by a Mohave County Superior Court jury.
Deputy County Attorney Amanda Claerhout had trouble convincing the jury and the judge that John Stettler, 42, used his homemade dune buggy to deliberate ram a quad operated by his on-again, off-again girlfriend late last July.

Garner gets five years, plus lifetime probation

KINGMAN – A local judge served light on prison, but heavy on probation as he imposed punishment for a young adult who had sex with a Lake Havasu City teenager for more than a year-long period. Judge Billy Sipe sentenced Justice Garner, 21, on June 14 in Kingman. Garner in April pleaded guilty to two criminal counts reduced to attempted sexual conduct with a minor. Six other sexual conduct with a minor charges are dismissed in the plea agreement.
