BULLHEAD CITY – Bullhead City Police report the midnight arrest of a man wanted for a series of shootings during which no one was injured in July. A felony arrest warrant for Jack Alan Gonzalez, 33, had previously issued for conspiracy to commit second degree murder and discharging a firearm at a residence. It didn’t go well for a repeat drug offender from Lake Havasu City who knew she was going to the Arizona Department of Corrections when she attended her July 30 sentencing hearing in Kingman. Terms of the plea agreement previously entered for Stacy Parenti, 59, required the Court to impose a 3.5 or 6-year prison punishment. A Mohave County superior court jury returned guilty verdicts in the trial of a man accused of sexually abusing his adopted daughter in Golden Valley. The jury deliberated for a little less than three hours on July 24 before convicting Shawn Cameron, 43, of luring a minor for sexual exploitation, sexual conduct with a minor and continuous sexual abuse of a child. Prosecutor Greg McPhillips told the jury that the woman who is now 20 years old first remembers being abused around the age of five in California. LAKE HAVASU CITY – A sentencing hearing last month for a Lake Havasu City man who stabbed his father lacked some suspense because prison punishment was mandated in the plea agreement convicting Markos Martinez, 22, of two aggravated assault charges. “The Court has no discretion,” said Mohave County Superior Court Judge Rick Lambert. “I’m sending you to prison for 10 years. KINGMAN – Information and input regarding his mental health issues helped a Mohave Valley man avoid a prison sentence. Mohave County Superior Court Judge Rick Lambert placed David Barton, 58, on supervised probation for five years during a July 22 hearing in Kingman. Barton pleaded guilty to aggravated assault stemming from a March, 2018 incident in the 700 block of Center Street. A male victim told Mohave County sheriff’s deputies that a struggle occurred after Barton argued with him over a borrowed ATV tire. A Tuesday shootout in Golden Valley that sent two men to the hospital remains under investigation by the Mohave County Sheriff’s office. Officers responded in force at 2:47 p.m. to a report that at least one man had been shot in the 4200 block of N.
