Canchola gets prison time for domestic violence

KINGMAN – Jealousy and relationship insecurity fueled violence between Lake Havasu City girlfriends earlier this year. Case details were spelled out by Judge Billy Sipe Wednesday, Sept. 25, as he imposed a 4.75-year prison sentence for Nancy Canchola, 39. Judge Sipe said Canchola suspected her 29-year-old girlfriend had been cheating on her when she returned after 3:00 a.m. on Valentine’s Day to their home in the 1200 block of Anacapa Drive. Parents charged in child abuse, drug case

KINGMAN – A five-year old girl and an older sibling have been removed from a Kingman home that has been condemned and declared uninhabitable. Kingman police said the girl opened the door while her mother hid in another room when police arrived Tuesday to assist a Department of Child Safety investigation at a home in the 700 block of Ridgecrest Drive. Michael Anthony Gurney, 39, and his wife Donna Ann Gurney, 43, were initially arrested on charges associated with previously issued warrants. Rap artist death probe brings local arrest

An ongoing federal investigation has led to the arrest of a Lake Havasu City man. Ryan Reavis, 36, was arrested Monday following execution of a search warrant at a residence in the 1000 block of Barcelona Loop. Lake Havasu police detective Chris Angus said a physician’s prescription pad, prescription-only pills, a usable amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia was located. Four arrested on drug charges

LAKE HAVASU CITY – A month-long investigation of suspected methamphetamine sales activity in Lake Havasu City and Parker has resulted in drug seizures and the arrests of four suspects. Lake Havasu police report that one pound of meth was confiscated from a vehicle that was stopped in La Paz County on September 17. Former NACFD chief Eder’s charges set aside

KINGMAN – The former chief of a north Kingman-based fire district has essentially erased his trial conviction involving a misdemeanor conflict of interest charge. Wayne Ludwig Eder, 56, was placed on unsupervised probation during a May 10 sentencing hearing before Mohave County Superior Court Judge Rick Lambert. Eder’s probation ended about 15 minutes later when he paid a $150 fine. Judge Lambert in early August set aside, or dismissed, the conviction and allegations involved. Further, Judge Lambert fully restored Eder’s constitutional rights, including his rights to vote, hold office and possess firearms.
