BULLHEAD CITY – Bullhead City police say a local resident was arrested Monday for stabbing her boyfriend during an argument at their home in the 1800 block of Arena Drive. Officers responded at 8:00 p.m. and paramedics transported the 41-year-old victim to Western Arizona Regional Medical Center for treatment. Police spokeswoman Emily Fromelt said 43-year-old Jennifer Morris was arrested and jailed for attempted murder by domestic violence. “The couple reportedly had an argument and Morris attempted to stab the victim several times in the neck, but the victim was able to defend himself,” Fromelt said. KINGMAN – One of the 24 defendants charged through the Operation King Crimson investigation that reportedly dismantled two Kingman based drug rings is going to prison for convictions from a previous case. Mohave County Superior Court Judge Derek Carlisle ordered a four-year prison term last Wednesday for Cynthia Stojevich, 37. Stojevich was convicted of trafficking in stolen property in 2011 and forgery in 2013 before serving prison time. Defense attorney George Hibbeler said Stojevich led a crime free life in Phoenix for seven years after prison, but relapsed into criminal activity after returning to Kingman where her troubles began. “It’s…

BULLHEAD CITY – Sentence was imposed Wednesday for one of three men who were charged with murder, attempted murder and other charges for a deadly drive-by shooting a year ago in Bullhead City. Kevin Hurtado, 24, was killed and his wife was wounded by gunfire resulting from what had been an ongoing dispute. Brent Sekel, 24, entered a plea agreement convicting him of lesser offenses, including hindering prosecution and facilitation of a drive-by shooting. MOHAVE COUNTY – Several Colorado River community drug cases were handled during Friday hearings conducted at the Mohave County courthouse in Kingman. The harshest outcome was afforded Austyn Bird, 24, Bullhead City. Judge Billy Sipe imposed the 9.25-year prison term stipulated in the plea agreement convicting Bird in three felony cases while two others are dismissed. Bird pleaded guilty two sale of narcotic drug charges and two counts of possession of narcotic drugs for sale, offenses committed in March, May and April of this year.
