KINGMAN – Kingman police have released more details of a barricaded subject ordeal that ended in a civilian suicide on Friday, Nov. 6. Police department spokeswoman Jennifer Sochocki said it was determined that Earl Hendrix, 37, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Sochocki said offers responded at 10:35 a.m. to a domestic violence incident in the 2000 block of Simms Avenue. Two area women allegedly had sex with male inmates on multiple occasions at the prison that the GEO Group operates in Golden Valley under a contract with the State of Arizona. Genevieve Belden, 32, Kingman, and Melony Petrovffsky, 50, Golden Valley, both entered not guilty pleas during their Nov. 2 arraignment hearings at the Mohave County Courthouse. Belden is charged with a dozen counts of unlawful sexual conduct by a correctional employee while Petrovffsky is charged with three counts of the same offense. MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave County will continue enforcing Governor Doug Ducey’s COVID-19 pandemic-related restrictions and regulations for bars and restaurants, gyms and movie theaters, but the Board of Supervisors voted Monday to lower the range of potential sanctions for non-compliance. There was little discussion of fully ignoring enforcement of the Governor’s edicts, as staff members continue to say they don’t know what the consequences might be for the county. KINGMAN – A six-month-long Kingman drug investigation culminated Nov. 3 with significant seizures and five arrests. Kingman police spokeswoman Jennifer Sochocki said federal agents assisted the local MAGNET narcotics task force with the execution of search warrants at one home in the 400 block of Wilshire Avenue and another in the 2000 block of Davis Avenue. Sochocki said a total of 10 pounds of methamphetamine and more than 500 counterfeit oxycodone pills believed to be made of fentanyl were seized.
