KINGMAN – Kingman Mayor Jen Miles said the city has recovered about 95% of the functionality of its municipal computer network following a crippling cyber-attack discovered Feb. 26. She said Information Technology department staff believe the hack attack occurred by aggressive malware, affording access through destructive email inadvertently opened by a city employee. “They do believe that someone clicked on an errant email,” Miles said. “It was like they got in, in a real sophisticated way.” Miles said the timetable for total recovery of the system remains unclear. MOHAVE COUNTY – The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office has announced their newly promoted Detention Supervisors. Thomas Davidson and Cody Delgado have been promoted to the rank of Corporal and Cody Stephenson has been promoted to the rank of Sergeant. All three men have demonstrated that they have the knowledge, experience, and drive to excel in their new rank at our Adult Detention Facility. Public safety concern stems from proposed state budget cut

KINGMAN – Kingman City Manager Ron Foggin has expressed concern over potential dire consequences of the $1.5 billion income tax cut he said Governor Doug Ducey has proposed in the state budget. “Doesn’t that sound wonderful (sic)?,” Foggin rhetorically asked city council members during their April 6 meeting. “I will suggest that it is not wonderful.” Foggin said the trickle-down effect would be a loss of $1.2 million for Kingman’s general fund in the next budget year. KINGMAN – A new Cerbat Justice of the Peace could be appointed next Monday, five days after the retirement of the Honorable John Taylor. A screening panel that reviewed nine applications and conducted interviews with four finalists has recommended that either of two candidates be appointed. They include retired Mohave County Sheriff’s sergeant Rob McEuen and deputy Mohave County attorney David Wayt.
