KINGMAN – Mohave County has been working out initial operations kinks since staff moved into the new building addition after vacating the historic courthouse in downtown Kingman in early March. They’ve been addressing climate control, plumbing and other issues since occupying the new four-story structure. “When you open a new building, there’s always rats that have to be killed. That’s what they call it,” said County Facilities Manager John Mieding. “We’re past most of those issues. The HVAC controls have been dialed in. MOHAVE COUNTY – Sheriff Doug Schuster is pleased to announce that the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office has received funding from the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety to purchase an all-terrain side-by-side vehicle. The chosen ATV, a Polaris General XP 1000, will be purchased for $29,126.32, using the awarded grant funds made possible by the passing of Proposition 207. The ATV will be utilized for multiple purposes throughout Mohave County. UPDATED May 7, 2021 3:55 p.m KINGMAN – A man who has many times accused various public officials of wrongdoing now faces possible prosecution for alleged drunk driving. Steven Claude Robinson, 65, was booked into the Adult Detention Center late Thursday, April 6 on a charge of driving under the influence to the slightest degree. Robinson served as point person for the Donald Trump Presidential campaign in northwest Arizona last year and he has worked tirelessly for the Mohave County republican party over the years, including a stint as Dist. 1 Director. MOHAVE COUNTY – The Honorable Charles W. Gurtler is retiring and resigning his position as Presiding Judge of Mohave County Superior Court. Gurtler, a resident of Fort Mohave who presides in Bullhead City, informed Arizona Governor Doug Ducey of his decision to step down on June 30 in an April 14 correspondence. “Entering my 27th year on the bench, I find that it is time to pursue other interests,” Gurtler’s resignation letter said. “I thank the citizens of Mohave County for allowing me to faithfully serve them these many years.” Gurtler handled mostly juvenile matters while serving as Judge Pro…
