A Kingman police officer who shot and killed a local resident last fall has been exonerated and cleared of any wrongdoing through outside agency investigation and case review by deputy Mohave County Attorney James Schoppmann. He concluded that officer Shawn Wyma’s use of deadly physical force was legally justified. Schoppmann’s findings come in the Oct. 14, 2020 ordeal that culminated in the death of Jason Peters, 45. Futures Without Fear, the Mohave County Human Trafficking and Domestic Violence Coalition, is a newly formed multi-disciplinary coalition to build capacity, raise awareness and provide services to minor victims of human trafficking and domestic violence.
