Missing person recovered near Yavapai Point

GRAND CANYON – On Monday, August 23, National Park Service personnel located a body below Yavapai Point following a multi-day search and rescue operation. Park rangers recovered the body which was located approximately 430 ft. below the rim. The body was transported to the rim and transferred to the Coconino County Medical Examiner’s Office. Based on evidence found with the body, the individual is believed to be missing person Gabor Berczi-Tomcsanyi. Berczi-Tomcsanyi, 45, was believed to have entered Grand Canyon on or around July 19, 2021 and abandoned his personal vehicle at the Grand Canyon Visitor Center.  An investigation into the incident…

Arizona Governor Doug Ducey on Friday appointed Megan A. McCoy to the Mohave County Superior Court judicial position vacated when the Honorable Charles Gurtler retired on June 30. McCoy, Kingman, was one of four finalists who interviewed for the bench appointment. McCoy served as a Deputy Mohave County Attorney prosecuting cases from 2006 to 2019, when she was appointed as Mohave County Court Commissioner. BULLHEAD CITY – A veteran member of the Bullhead City Police Department has lost a prolonged battle with COVID-19 and complications from the coronavirus. LAUGHLIN, Nev. – A man was killed during an early Friday fight inside a Laughlin casino. Laughlin Metro police responded at 1:20 a.m. to the incident at the Aquarius Resort.
