KINGMAN – A Kingman man who admits engaging illegal sexual activity with a teenager is going to the Arizona Department of Corrections. Russell Farney, 46, is being convicted of two charges reduced to attempted sexual abuse of a minor in a plea agreement unveiled Tuesday, Sept. 17. Deputy Mohave County attorney Marcie Mininberg told Superior Court Judge Lee Jantzen that Farney engaged in illegal touching of a 15-year-old girl. KINGMAN – The Kingman Police Department took reports of rumors of a threat of a school shooting targeting Kingman Middle School. Kingman Police School Resource Officers conducted a thorough investigation to determine the source of the rumors and determined that the threat is not credible. KINGMAN – A Kingman man spit on a police officer following his arrest over the weekend. Deputy police Chief Joel Freed said officers responded right about midnight to a report of a man screaming profanities while walking in the vicinity of Rutherford Street and Beverly Avenue.
Freed said 38-year-old Justin Welch refused to exit the roadway and was placed in custody early Saturday, Sept. 14.

BULLHEAD CITY – Police in Bullhead City report a fight between two men escalated into a stabbing. Officers responded at 2:20 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 16 to an apartment complex in the 1600 block of Havasupai Drive.
Agency spokeswoman Emily Fromelt said the victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening wound to his abdomen.
