No injuries in Acoma house fire

LAKE HAVASU CITY – Residents in the 500 block of Acoma Blvd., were able to evacuate their home unscathed after a fire broke out. The occupants discovered fire coming from the roof in the early morning hours of Monday, Dec. 23. Lake Havasu City Fire Department was able to gain control of the blaze in less than 15 minutes and remained on scene for about five hours conducting salvage operation. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

KINGMAN – The Kingman City Council at their Dec. 17 meeting addressed filling vacancies for the Clean City, Planning & Zoning, PARG, and Transit Advisory Commissions. Mike Blair was appointed to a seat on the Historic Preservation Commission. The commission currently has a second seat that remains vacant. Clean City Commissioners C. Russell, Kathy Bowman and Na’qui “Nikki” c’Way’ya, were each reappointed for new terms. Regina Garcia submitted her resignation from the commission; Teresa Woods was appointed in Garcia’s place. Great Dane rescued from residential blaze

LAKE HAVASU CITY – The Lake Havasu City Fire Department (LHCFD) responded to reports of smoke in a residence in the 4000 block of Black Hills Bay the afternoon of Friday, Dec. 20. According to a LHCFD press release, the homeowner reported a fire after finding smoke in the living room; he was able to evacuate. The first arriving fire company reported 20 to 30 foot flames coming from the roof of the residence.
