Movie night is Feb. 28

KINGMAN – The Kathryn Heidenreich Adult Center (KHAC) monthly movie night will be held Friday, Feb. 28 beginning at 6 p.m. This month’s featured movie will be Key Largo from 1948, feature Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Bacall and Edward Robinson. Steven Conn will provide historical and behind the scenes commentary before the movie starts. Family and friends are welcome; popcorn and snacks will be available. Bullhead City now a Second Amendment Sanctuary city

BULLHEAD CITY – A unanimous January 21 vote by the Bullhead City Council declares the Colorado River community a Second Amendment Sanctuary City. Passage of a resolution pledges commitment in support of gun rights and resistance to any attempt by the state or federal government to erode them in any way. The city of Needles in California passed a similar resolution last July while the Mohave County Board of Supervisors did the same last November. Two-story home destroyed in blaze

KINGMAN – An early Thursday fire destroyed an unoccupied, two story residence in downtown Kingman. Public Information Officer Oscar Lopez said Kingman Fire Department personnel responded at 1:11 a.m. to the incident in the 600 block of South Fourth Street. “First arriving fire personnel found heavy fire and smoke exiting the structure,” Lopez said. “Crews were able to conduct a primary all clear on the first floor, but were forced to evacuate as the structure was deemed unsafe.” Lopez said utility workers handled some electric lines that were inhibiting firefighting operations.
