KINGMAN – Surveying beginning June 1, and lasting through mid-June for the Downtown Infrastructure Design Project (Formerly, Downtown Streetscape Project). The consultants hired by the city will be gathering data from store front to store front, street, curbs, etc. on Beale from 1st Street to 6th St (half a block on the north and all the way to Andy Devine on the south at the intersecting streets). The Mexican wolf recovery effort recently got a genetic boost when biologists from the Arizona Game and Fish Department (AZGFD), New Mexico Department of Game and Fish (NMDGF), and Mexican Wolf Species Survival Plan (SSP), with extensive logistical support from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), worked together to cross-foster 20 genetically diverse wolf pups from captive facilities across the U.S. into litters of wild wolf packs. BULLHEAD CITY – Mohave Electric Cooperative’s board of directors approved $35,000 in additional emergency energy assistance funding for MEC’s Members Helping Members program administered by River Fund, Inc. Tyler Carlson, CEO for MEC said, “At a time when members are needing it most, our board wanted to do more to help our members at this difficult time. The quickest thing we could do was add funding to MEC’s assistance program that Mike Conner and the River Fund already have in place. We are doubling the annual program funding from $35,000 to $70,000 to help members with their electric bill payments.”…

Stage II fire restrictions for BHC area

Mohave County implemented Stage II fire restrictions that began on May 12, 2020, banning all outdoor fires, campfires, and permissible consumer fireworks on private and public lands in the unincorporated areas of the county. The Bullhead City Fire Department has subsequently instituted the Stage II fire burn ban within city limits beginning on this date, May 27, 2020, until a determination of Fire Emergency is rescinded. Bullhead City’s COVID-19 hotpot, the Joshua Springs Senior Living facility, was the focus of much of Thursday’s special Mohave County Board of Supervisors meeting in Kingman. Supervisor Hildy Angius said her constituents have raised lots of questions since it became known that some deaths and at least 18 coronavirus infections trace to the long-term care facility.
