No injuries in Havasu house fire

LAKE HAVASU CITY – Fire caused extensive damage to a Lake Havasu City residence Monday. Personnel from the Lake Havasu City fire department responded at 1:00 p.m. to the fire in the 2000 block of College Drive. “The first arriving fire company reported smoke coming from the side garage door and heavy fire to the rear of the residence extending into the house,” a news release stated. Crews brought the fire under control within 13 minutes. Occupants evacuated the home safely and no injuries were reported. Cause of the fire remains under investigation. Dave Hawkins

Benson runs Boston marathon at home

KINGMAN – Kingman’s Anna Benson ran her Boston marathon at home Saturday, since last Monday’s race in Massachusetts has been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Benson and many others who registered for Boston ran virtual marathon’s that will be recognized with medals mailed by race officials once times are submitted by athletes. Benson’s friend Nikki Short decided to make Benson’s run a community event. “She said ‘since you have to run it anyway, we might as well make it fun.’” And Kingman did! Two more COVID-19 cases today, bringing total to 59 for Mohave County

MOHAVE COUNTY, AZ (April 20, 2020) – The Mohave County Health Department MCDPH-Nursing staff was notified this afternoon of two more positive COVID-19 cases. (Despite the similarities, these are two different cases.)  Both are in the Kingman service area and both are in the 65+ age range.  However, the first case is hospitalized out-of state and the second case is in isolation, and recovering in a home also out-of-state.  The two cases are unrelated and both have permanent addresses in Mohave County.  No contacts have been identified within Mohave County. Based on information provided by the patients, both cases are travel-related. MOHAVE COUNTY, AZ (April 20, 2020) – The Mohave County Health Department MCDPH-Nursing staff was notified this morning of two positive COVID-19 cases. The first is in the Lake Havasu City service area and the second is the Bullhead City service area. Both persons are in the 65+ age range and both are isolating and recovering at home.
