KINGMAN – The Mohave County GOP, District 1 will be hosting their annual Lincoln Day Dinner on Saturday, April 24 at Beale Celebrations, 201 N. Fourth St. There will be a gun raffle, silent and live auctions, and guest speakers. Featured speakers are U.S. Congressman Paul Gosar, Arizona Rep., Dist 6 Walt Blackman, and Mohave County Sheriff Doug Shuster. KINGMAN – Due to the recent cyber-attack on the City of Kingman government operations, the March 9, Planning & Zoning Commission meeting and the March 10 Board of Adjustment meeting have been cancelled. As of March 5, the City of Kingman continues to experience computer system issues and therefore cannot process any online communications. KINGMAN – The new Mohave County Courthouse addition holds its first jury trials next week. Superior Court jury trials held in the adjacent historic courthouse in downtown Kingman were suspended in December, when coronavirus case numbers were spiking. Prospective jurors will be summoned Monday for the trial of Greg Mack. The 49-year-old Kingman man is accused of scuffling with Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies during a 2018 landlord tenant dispute in Valle Vista. KINGMAN – Kingman Mayor Jen Miles has been notified that signatures on petitions proposing her recall from office have been validated by the Mohave County Recorder’s Office. Miles said the office has determined that the petitions bear 1,512 valid signatures, 128 more than the minimum number required to qualify the question. Recall leader James Coffman said he initiated the recall last September largely in protest of the municipal mask mandate that was in effect at that time. Miles said she has until May 11 to resign, consider legal options or declare candidacy in a recall election that she’s been told…

KINGMAN – Nine Kingman area residents have applied to become the next Cerbat Justice of the Peace. A vacancy will be created by the retirement of Judge John Taylor late this month. Mohave County Human Resources Director Ken Cunningham said a four-member committee will review the applications and conduct interviews with the top candidates. He said the goal is to recommend up to three of the applicants for possible appointment. County supervisors could discuss and take action on the matter at their April 5 board meeting. Dave Hawkins
