Walmart reopens after deep cleaning

KINGMAN – The sun came up and Walmart reopened its Kingman supercenter this morning. Walmart shut down the store for what it called a “deep cleaning” from 2:00 p.m. Monday until 7:00 a.m. Wednesday. The company provided a statement to the city of Kingman prior to closure indicating the store cleansing is part of the corporation commitment to public safety as it monitors COVID-19 infections in the communities it serves. There’s community speculation about possible coronavirus infection among the Walmart workforce. There was no mention of that in the corporate communication to the city. Dave Hawkins

Jungle Smoke and Vape celebrates second anniversary

KINGMAN – The community is invited to celebrate the second anniversary of Jungle Smoke and Vape, at 117 N. Sixth St., on Saturday, Jan. 9 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. There will be a raffle for a quilt of valor and store products values at more than $2,000. MOHAVE COUNTY – Already a longtime fixture at Bullhead City council meetings, the irascible and entertaining Scottie McClure has become a regular attendee of Mohave County Board of Supervisors meetings in Kingman in recent months. McClure made clear Monday, Jan. 4 that he does not like one of the changes new Chairman Buster Johnson has instituted for Board meetings.
