KINGMAN – More than 200 people gathered at the highly successful 76th Annual District 1 GOP Lincoln Day Dinner last week at Beale Celebrations.  The keynote speaker, Walter Blackman, Arizona’s 6th District Representative, spoke to an enthusiastic crowd as well as Paul Gosar, U.S. Representative, Doug Schuster, Mohave County Sheriff and Scott Preston, Investment Advisor at Preston Investments. The Interior Department has announced that the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has given final approval to a new solar energy project on public lands in California. The Crimson Solar Project represents an investment of roughly $550 million and has the potential to deliver enough power to energize approximately 87,500 homes. The Record of Decision authorizes Sonoran West to construct a 350-megawatt (MW) solar photovoltaic facility with a 350-MW energy storage system and the necessary ancillary support facilities to generate and deliver power through the Southern California Edison Colorado River Substation.  “The time for a clean energy future is now….

MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave County efforts to battle a wildfire and COVID-19 were updated during Monday’s Mohave County Board of Supervisors meeting in Kingman. Dist. 2 Sup. Hildy Angius praised agencies and firefighters for what she called a “phenomenal job” protecting people and property from the Flag Fire that scorched nearly 1,300-acres in the Hualapai Mountains southeast of Kingman. The fire that ignited on April 25 forced the evacuation of 200 homes in the community of Pine Lake and the closures of the county operated park and the private lodge within the park. KINGMAN  – Kingman Regional Medical Center (KRMC) received an “A”gradein the spring 2021 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, the Leapfrog Group announced on April 29th. The distinction is KRMC’s fifth in a row, recognizing the hospital’s efforts in protecting patients from errors, injuries, accidents, and infections. The Leapfrog Group is an independent national watchdog organization committed to health care quality and safety. The group assigns letter grades (A-F) twice a year to all general hospitals across the country. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only ratings program based exclusively on hospitals’ prevention of medical errors and other harms to patients in their care….
