Bullhead woman killed in traffic accident

BULLHEAD CITY – On July 28, at about 6:39 pm., the Bullhead City Police Department dispatch center received a report of a truck hauling a trailer that had become disabled on  eastbound Highway 68 between McCormick Boulevard and Davis Dam Road. The report indicated the trailer of the disabled vehicle was partially obstructing a lane of travel. An officer was dispatched to the area and at 6:50 pm, another caller reported that a vehicle had struck the trailer. Oxygen tanks cause explosions during house fire

LAKE HAVASU CITY – At approximately 8 a.m., on Saturday, July 29, a fire was reported by multiple 911 calls in the 3800 block of Bluegrass Dr. The callers stated they heard an explosion, and the front of the residence was on fire. The first arriving fire company reported heavy smoke and fire to the front of the residence. Multiple explosions occurred due to venting oxygen tanks in the residence.  Four LHCFD Engine Companies, one Desert Hills (DHFD) Engine Company, one LHCFD Truck Company, one LHCFD Medic Unit, one AMR Ambulance and a Battalion Chief responded to the fire and gained control…

GEO Group graduates correctional officers

Warden Nick Pastella along with recent graduates of the Correctional Officer Training Academy, Geo Group Kingman Correctional & Rehabilitation Facility.   The recent graduates completed an eight-week course that included academics and physical training.  Following the academy, the graduates were assigned to a two-week on-the-job training program before they were assigned to work correctional posts independently. Lost hikers rescued from Sara Park area

LAKE HAVASU CITY – At approximately 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 25, the Lake Havasu City Fire Department was dispatched to a desert rescue at Sara Park. Two hikers got lost returning from the Sara Park Trail system after attempting a sunset hike. Reports stated that they were lost in the dark but uninjured. Two Engines, a Battalion Chief, and two desert rescue side by sides responded. Mohave County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue was also requested to assist with the nighttime search.
