Bullhead hosts Walk Away from Drugs & 5K Run

BULLHEAD CITY – The Bullhead City Police and Fire Departments will hold the annual Walk Away from Drugs and 5K run on Wednesday, October 25th to celebrate Red Ribbon Week.  “We encourage all participants to wear red and hold signs or banners to show their commitment to a drug-free lifestyle,” said Community Services Officer Lorrie Duggins. The Red Ribbon campaign is the oldest and largest drug prevention program nationwide. The campaign began in 1985 when drug traffickers in Mexico City murdered DEA agent Kiki Camarena. This incident started the tradition to display and wear red ribbons as a symbol of intolerance toward the use of drugs. …

Cycle vs vehicle crash

BULLHEAD CITY – A man and woman aboard a motorcycle suffered major injuries when they were struck by a vehicle on Saturday, Oct. 7 in Bullhead City. Police responded just before 2 p.m. to the incident in the area of Lakeside Drive and Riviera Boulevard. “The collision caused the rider and passenger to separate from the motorcycle,” said police sergeant Eddie Espinoza. He said they were transported to Western Arizona Regional Medical Center before they were transferred to helicopters bound from trauma centers in Las Vegas.
