Topock Marsh water levels drop; agencies work to correct water levels MOHAVE VALLEY – The Bureau of Reclamation, in cooperation with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, is working to correct a significant drop in water levels in Topock Marsh. The 4,000-acre marsh is adjacent to the Colorado River in the Havasu National Wildlife Refuge. Managed by the Fish and Wildlife Service, it serves as a recreation area and wildlife habitat for the tri-state area. KINGMAN – A downtown Kingman fire fatality is under investigation. Details are sketchy, but Deputy Kingman Police Chief Joel Freed said a person was fatally injured when fire burned a handmade structure where Eighth Street ends in a desert area at the base of a rocky hillside. Police and other officials were observed at the fire scene Saturday afternoon, Jan. 13. The name of the victim is withheld and Freed said more information will likely be provided Tuesday, Jan. 16.
