The Gala will be held at the Hualapai Mountain Resort beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 10. This will be a black-tie event. 1920’s attire is encouraged but not required. LAKE HAVASU CITY – A variety of activities for children were shared yesterday at the Kids on the Colorado River’s very first community day! The nonprofit’s event took place on Sunday, May 5 at the Aquatic Center. Kids on the Colorado River was developed to provide education about river recreation in the surrounding areas of Lake Havasu, along with ecology, Indian reservations, wildlife, and many more amazing facts for children to learn about. KINGMAN – Friends of Mohave County Animal Shelter volunteers will have puppies and dogs from the shelter available for adoption at Rt 66 Rotary Club Festival of the Arts on Saturday, May 11  and Sunday, May12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Metcalfe Park, 315 W. KINGMAN – The KRMC Foundation will host its annual Mary Chan’s Route 66 Race for Hospice on Saturday, May 11. The first race will begin promptly at 7:15 a.m. Proceeds from this event will help fund the ongoing operating expenses of the Joan & Diana Hospice Home in Kingman. The hospice home provides end-of-life care to individuals and offers respite services to their families. KINGMAN –Lee Williams High School (LWHS) senior Wyatt Pickering won the 800-meter race and a state championship at the Arizona Division III Track and Field meet in Phoenix last weekend. The 18-year-old used a powerful kick finish to pull past the field for gold in 1:54.73. “These past few weeks I’ve been dialing in on my last 150 meters. I left it all out there and it definitely showed,” Pickering told Runner Space.
