With eleven wildfires in nearly five months, Mohave County is one of the most active counties in the state, second only to Cochise. MacAlpine receives four years probation

A Mohave Valley man convicted of drug and weapons charges was released from custody following his sentencing hearing in Kingman Wednesday, April 24. That’s because Mohave County Superior Court Judge Rick Lambert imposed a 145 day jail sentence and credited Mark MacAlpine, 55, for the 145 days already spent behind bars. Officers seized dozens of weapons and a cache of ammunition when they searched MacAlpine’s home in the 7800 block of Green Valley Drive last December.  They also shut down a marijuana wax production operation discovered in the residence. Felix eagerly takes deal for 5-15 years

A Bullhead City man was animated when he answered a Judge’s questions while indicating he was eager to enter a plea agreement that will send him to the Arizona Department of Corrections. Ernie Hernandez Felix, 29, responded to Judge Billy Sipe’s inquiry regarding his comprehension of the proposed plea during the April 22 hearing. “I think it’s a great deal. Land bought for new office building

A developer is purchasing land to build a new office to house state employees who work in two older offices in downtown Kingman. Harrison Properties Vice President Jeff Dalton said the transaction securing ownership of a 4.55-acre parcel between Kenneth and Adams on Airway Avenue will close in mid-May. Dalton said plans will soon be submitted seeking a building permit for the proposed construction of a 40,000 sq. ft. office on the vacant lot. Sun State Builders of Phoenix will be the contractor. The purported ringleader of allege massage parlor prostitution operations in Bullhead City and Lake Havasu needs a new lawyer. Defense attorney Brad Rideout has been allowed to withdraw as legal counsel for Amanda Yamauchi, 47. The woman who claims residency in Las Vegas with ties to both Colorado River communities in Arizona is charged in a multi count indictment accusing her of involvement in human trafficking and forcing women to work as prostitutes. Slolari to receive 5-20 years with second deal

A Needles resident who recently accepted a mandatory prison plea agreement for his involvement in a Bullhead City-based opioid ring has taken another deal resolving four other criminal cases. Matthew Solari, 31, will get a 2.5 year prison term in the first agreement convicting him of possessing narcotic drugs and forgery for using a false prescription to obtain pills at a pharmacy in Lake Havasu City.    The first case that also involved seven other defendants was handled by the Arizona Attorney General’s office.
