Cliff dive ends in death of teenager

A back flip cliff dive into Lake Havasu proved fatal for a California teenager. The victim of the Friday accident is identified as Chance Huerta, 16, Victorville. The Mohave County sheriff’s office said Huerta landed wrong after he jumped into the lake near Mohave Rock about 4:20 p.m. “The victim came to the surface briefly, before witnesses on scene lost sight of him,” said spokeswoman Anita Mortensen. Side scan sonar located the victim’s body which was recovered by divers at 9:15 a.m. Saturday.

Christmas in July Show & Shine set

KINGMAN – Arizona Claus Cause will host their annual Christmas in July Car Show & Shine on Friday, July 19 in the Walmart parking lot. The event will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. with live music by The Terry Wayne Project. The event is open to the public and free to spectators. Car entry fee is $10 per vehicle.
