Venture Club gearing up for annual charity tournament

KINGMAN – The Venture Club of Kingman is expressing appreciation for great support from local businesses for their upcoming Second Annual Charity Cornhole Tournament to be held October 12 at noon at Metcalfe Park.

Unisource Energy Services recently donated $2,500 to the cause. Justin Brookins of Veterans Epoxy custom-made five sets of cornhole boards and an American flag to be raffled or given away as prizes at this year’s event.

Local businesses such as Pawn World, Mohave Homes, Barkhurst Electric and Mohave Eye Center have made food, beer and wine possible at the event. Cosmic Bounce House has generously donated a bounce house for the event while The Tack Shed is sponsoring a large yard game area.

Fifteen other businesses have donated their time, money or items, and the club is excited for a great turn out this year.

The tournament is limited to 50 teams, but all are welcome to spend the afternoon in the park supporting a great cause.

The event will be raising funds for the club’s various service projects throughout the year as well as their Kingman Literacy project and yearly scholarships benefiting local women looking to further their education.

Registration is open until all of the brackets are filled. It is $30 a team and $20 for individuals. All who register early will be entered into a raffle sponsored by Anderson Ford.
