Former NACFD chief Eder’s charges set aside

KINGMAN – The former chief of a north Kingman-based fire district has essentially erased his trial conviction involving a misdemeanor conflict of interest charge. Wayne Ludwig Eder, 56, was placed on unsupervised probation during a May 10 sentencing hearing before Mohave County Superior Court Judge Rick Lambert. Eder’s probation ended about 15 minutes later when he paid a $150 fine. Judge Lambert in early August set aside, or dismissed, the conviction and allegations involved. Further, Judge Lambert fully restored Eder’s constitutional rights, including his rights to vote, hold office and possess firearms.

93-year-old woman dies following traffic crash

BULLHEAD CITY – The Bullhead City Police Department reports the recent death of a woman who is believed to have caused a three-vehicle traffic accident earlier this month. Agency spokeswoman Emily Fromelt said a vehicle driven by Ethel Lee Evans, 93, Bullhead City, rear-ended another vehicle that was stopped at a traffic light on September 11. Fromelt said the struck vehicle ended up rear-ending another vehicle upon impact at about 5:50 p.m. at Hancock Road and Lakeside Drive. BOULDER CITY, Nev. – The winner of the 2019 Love Your Lakes photo contest is Terry Maurer of @insightoflifephotography. Her photo of a person kayaking with a dog wearing a life jacket in the Black Canyon was unanimously selected as the favorite and will appear as the featured photo on the 2020 Lake Mead National Recreation Area annual pass. No injuries in kitchen fire

LAKE HAVASU CITY – At approximately 3:25 p.m. on Monday, September 23, a homeowner, from the 3600 block of Pontchartrain Drive reported a fire on the stove from a burning candle. The occupant put out the fire with a garden hose prior to Lake Havasu City Fire Department’s arrival. The occupants evacuated the residence safely. The first arriving fire company reported smoke coming from the back of the casita. Four engine companies, one truck company, and one battalion chief responded to the fire. The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.
