Voters to decide if mayoral term should be changed

Kingman voters may get the opportunity to decide whether the city mayor should serve for four years rather than two.  Kingman council members currently serve four-year terms while the mayor only serves two years. City Clerk Sydney Muhle recently told council members that the community may enjoy enhanced political stability and continuity with a four-year term format. She said more candidates might run for mayor if they can lock up a four-year term rather than having to expend the money and energy to run every two years. Lower energy costs lead to summer savings for UniSource Electric customers

UniSource Energy Services electric customers will enjoy summer bill savings that average more than $21 per month thanks to reduced natural gas and power prices. The Arizona Corporation Commission approved UniSource’s request to apply an energy cost credit of 1.85 cents per kilowatt-hour (kWh) to its electric bills from June 1 to Sept. 30.
