Arizona’s Independent Redistricting Commission Travels to Mohave County

Listening Sessions in Lake Havasu, Bullhead City, Kingman The Arizona Independent Redistricting Commission (IRC) invites residents of Mohave County to participate in its first round of statewide public hearings, information will be presented both in person and virtually about the redrawing of Arizona’s congressional and legislative districts. Public comment received during these meetings will be used by the IRC to help inform the drawing of new district boundaries.  Commission Chair Erika Neuberg urges all Arizonans to attend one of these important hearings to ensure their voices will be heard. Sheriff seeks budget boost

MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave County sheriff Doug Schuster has asked for a funding boost while the board of supervisors anticipates adopting a spending plan for the next fiscal year on Aug. 2. Schuster told supervisors Monday that some progress has been made in the last couple of years as the department has worked to raise pay and reduce compression issues. But Schuster said more upward salary adjustments are needed to attract and retain personnel, particularly entry level deputy and detention positions.
