Catholic Charities Switches Focus to Affordable Housing

KINGMAN – The City of Kingman has been working with Catholic Charities of Arizona on their $4.5 million renovation of the Route 66 Motel located at 2939 E. Andy Devine Avenue as part of their Housing for Hope program. The Department of Housing awarded those grant funds to Catholic Charities, with the intent of renovating it into a 20-unit transitional housing facility. Higher UES rates to take effect this month

MOHAVE COUNTY – That the Arizona Corporation Commission approved a substantial rate increase for UniSource Energy Services (UES) electric customers gained nominal publicity, and many customers who missed the news will likely be caught by surprise when they open their bills this month and next. The rate increase averaging $13.68 a month on average for residential customers went into effect Feb 1. A smaller portion of that adjustment will be reflected by those receiving bills in the first half of the month with later Feb. bills taking a bigger bite from the wallet, before billing consistency takes root in March….

Bullhead Transit System to Host Community Presentation

BULLHEAD CITY – The Bullhead Area Transit System (BATS) is hosting a community presentation to showcase and explain current plans for a future transit facility. Representatives from BATS and Selberg Associates, Inc. will be present at the event.
