The Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) awarded the Lake Havasu City Police Department a grant of $30,178 to be used to conduct increased traffic enforcement and to purchase radar tracking equipment. The S.T.E.P. (Selective Traffic Enforcement Program) grant provides the Lake Havasu City Police Department the funds needed to increase traffic enforcement capabilities by assigning personnel on overtime to concentrate on speed enforcement activities. MOHAVE COUNTY – Engineers invent, design and build things to solve problems, and Mohave Community College is the place where future engineers can get started. Students studying engineering at MCC get hands-on experience by practicing with micro-computers, 3-D printers, an acoustic tractor beam, wind generators, a cell phone-controlled robot and more. “Engineering is for people who have one of two skills, math or creativity,” said Engineering Instructor Dr. Russell Cox. “If someone lacks one of those skills then they have the chance to learn it in college.
