BULLHEAD CITY – The Bullhead Fire Department was one of 50 departments selected by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) to participate in a pilot program to build a digital community risk assessment (CRA) tool. MOHAVE COUNTY – Engineers invent, design and build things to solve problems, and Mohave Community College is the place where future engineers can get started. Students studying engineering at MCC get hands-on experience by practicing with micro-computers, 3-D printers, an acoustic tractor beam, wind generators, a cell phone-controlled robot and more. “Engineering is for people who have one of two skills, math or creativity,” said Engineering Instructor Dr. Russell Cox. “If someone lacks one of those skills then they have the chance to learn it in college. Obtaining those two skills is what will make them thrive as an engineer.” …

HAVASU CITY – At approximately 10:40 p.m. on Sunday, October 20, several citizens reported a brush fire just north of Windsor State Beach on London Bridge Road. The first arriving fire company reported a three- to five-acre fire burning south towards the north end of the Jet Ski launch ramp. The fire was moving towards Wet Monkey Powersport Rentals shop where several pontoon boats and personal watercrafts were parked. Three Engine Companies and a Battalion Chief responded to the fire.
