Lowe promoted to Corporal

MOHAVE COUNTY – The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office would like to announce the promotion of Jason Lowe to the rank of Corporal. He has demonstrated that he has the knowledge and experience to excel in his new rank at the Adult Detention Facility. Lowe is recognized as a valuable member of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office. He started his career as a Detention Officer in January of 2017, where he has excelled in his assigned duties. Airport renames terminal to honor John Hastings

BULLHEAD CITY – Laughlin/Bullhead International Airport’s terminal building has been named the John R. Hastings Memorial Terminal in honor of its former board member and president. Eight in running for four City of Kingman seats

KINGMAN – Eight people have expressed interest in four elected positions in the City of Kingman. Terms of office expire this year for Mayor Jen Miles, Vice-Mayor Travis Lingenfelter and city council members Jamie Scott Stehly and David Wayt. City Clerk Annie Meredith said Miles and Stehly have picked up information packets to pursue re-election. Others who’ve secured the packets include Sarah Ferry, William Arredondo, Timothy Griepp, Joe Newlon, Andrew Armao and Jeff Adams. Big rig parking approved for K-Mart lot

KINGMAN – Eighteen wheelers will be permitted to park in a portion of the parking lot where the former K-Mart store is located on Andy Devine Avenue in Kingman. A modification of a Conditional Use permit allowing that to happen was approved during the January 7 City Council meeting. City Planner Rich Ruggles said the Pilot Travel Centers project will provide up to 17 parking spaces for big rigs visiting the Flying J Truck stop. All but four of the 61 vehicle spaces lost to truck parking will be newly established for employee use behind the old K-Mart. Signage will…
