MOHAVE COUNTY – A Second Amendment Sanctuary declaration in support of constitutionally protected gun rights by Mohave County last November is sending ripples across the state. Approval of a resolution by the Mohave County Board of Supervisors is prompting consideration in other jurisdictions after drawing considerable press attention and publicity. District 2 Supervisor Hildy Angius visited Prescott last Thursday, January 2 where the Yavapai County Board of Supervisors was to consider a proclamation that was not as bold as Mohave County’s resolution. The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) has announced the promotion of Dave Coffin to the rank of sergeant. Coffin is recognized as a valuable member of the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office. He came to MCSO in June, 2018 with 22 years of prior law enforcement experience. After exceeding his duties as a deputy, Coffin was selected for a transfer to the Detective Division in February, 2019. He has demonstrated that his knowledge and experience will help him excel as a supervisor.
