Caregiver presentation is open to the public

LAUGHLIN, Nev. – Western Arizona Council of Governments (WACOG) will host a free caregiving presentation by renowned author Elaine K. Sanchez, on Thursday, May 14 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Blue Water Resort and Casino Mohave Room in Laughlin.

Entitled “Finding Hope, Humor, and Heart in Caregiving” this will be an inspiring and informative presentation featuring real-life stories and strategies for coping with the emotional stress of caregiving. Attendees will come away with strategies that will help to cope with caregiver anger and guilt; deal with caregiver depression and grief; understand and respond to dementia-related challenging behaviors including surprising and inappropriate sexual behavior.

Sanchez is the author of “Letters from Madelyn: Chronicles of a Caregiver,” which is filled with stories that will touch your heart and discover mental and spiritual growth in the worst of end-of-life situations. Sanchez is also the co-founder of CaregiverHelp.com.
