Public defender found to be in contempt of court; fined $1,000

Askar resigns position Jan. 21 MOHAVE COUNTY – A Mohave County Public Defender resigned his position just five days after he was found in contempt of Court and fined by Superior Court Judge Rick Lambert. Judge Lambert and indigent defense attorney Jamie Askar engaged in a very unique and somewhat heated exchange between hearings on January 16. Judge Lambert first fined Askar $100 before he twice increased the sanction and asked the lawyer if he’d like to go to jail. Free community information workshops resume at Fieldhouse

BULLHEAD CITY – The Bullhead City Elementary and Colorado River Union High School Districts are resuming free community information workshops funded by 21st Century Community Learning Center grants.  This year, the workshops are being moved from Tuesdays to Wednesdays. 2 MCC financial aid administrators receive new certification

MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave Community College is now one of the only colleges in the state with two Certified Financial Aid Administrators (CFAA). Heather Patenaude, Director of Financial Aid and Lisa Downey, Financial Aid Manager, have earned their certification by the National Association of Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA).
