Fire district facing cutbacks after $40,000 theft

YUCCA – It’s former Chief apologized Friday for embezzling at least $40,000 from the Yucca Fire District. Matthew Young, 40, appeared for sentencing after previously pleading guilty to theft. “I stand before you today your Honor a humble man with a lot of remorse and guilt in his heart,” Young told Judge Doug Camacho. GOLDEN VALLEY – The Golden Valley Fire District Board of Directors is seeking a qualified applicant to fill a vacancy on the Fire Board.  Interim Board Member term will be from the date of appointment until December 1, 2022.
