LHC Mayor signs proclamation declaring the existence of a local emergency

COVID-19 test results inconclusive for local patient

KINGMAN – Medical providers recently took a swab sample from a patient with respiratory symptoms who came to the KRMC emergency room.  The sample was subsequently sent to a reference laboratory for testing. The test results were returned Wednesday, March 18, which were inconclusive. This means that COVID-19 has not been ruled out, nor has it been confirmed definitively. At this time, this is not a presumptive positive nor a confirmed positive. However, the patient has been advised to self-quarantine and the case should be managed as positive until further testing determines conclusive results.

Declaration of local emergency: what it means-

KINGMAN – City of Kingman Mayor Jen Miles signed a Declaration of Local Emergency yesterday, March 17, in order to potentially receive state or federal relief funds, as they may become available during or after the COVID-19 pandemic. Citizens are urged to cooperate with this emergency declaration, especially those guidelines determined by the Center for Disease Control (CDC). There are currently no confirmed cases of coronavirus in Kingman or Mohave County. KINGMAN – Kingman Regional Medical Center (KRMC) announced updated measures to address coronavirus disease COVID-19: Virtual Visits with KRMC Care Anywhere People who have respiratory symptoms are advised to stay at home and complete a virtual visit through KRMC Care Anywhere. Roundy is Microgrant recipient

At its March 6 meeting Kingman Route 66 Rotary Club presented Kingman Academy of Learning teacher, Stephanie Roundy with a microgrant donation check of $2,000 (shown with Rotarian Brenda Rhodes and club president Karen Brown). Roundy teaches third through fifth grades and will be using the donation for materials to be used in the Sensory Path Circuit program. This is an evidence-based, colorful, creative and playful way for kids to improve fundamental motor skills and build stronger sensory connections in the brain that are responsible for sight, touch, sound, and balance.
