Courthouse restrictions elevated

Additional restrictions are being imposed to promote public health and prevent spread of the coronavirus at the Mohave County courthouse in Kingman. Various social distancing and operations changes were previously implemented under an Administrative Order issued last month by Presiding Judge Charles Gurtler.    Three of the four judges who hear criminal cases have now ramped up restrictions to the point that mostly only court personnel will appear in person for hearings. Four-day week implemented- KINGMAN – The Kingman Municipal Court will be open to the public, but it is encouraging people to avoid coming to the courthouse if possible. If someone is feeling ill, or has reason to believe that they have been exposed to someone who is ill, they are being asked to not enter into the Kingman Municipal Court. MOHAVE COUNTY – The Mohave County Dept. of Public Health was notified today of an eighth COVID-19 case. This is an adult from the Lake Havasu area.  It is travel-related and the individual is hospitalized out of our county. There are now a total of eight confirmed cases in Mohave County, three in Lake Havasu City, one in Bullhead City, and four in Kingman. KINGMAN – Now that cases of COVID-19 have been identified in our community, Kingman Regional Medical Center (KRMC) is sharing the following information with community members about when and how to seek medical care if they have respiratory symptoms. We have temporarily changed our processes to limit the spread of illness. Symptoms of COVID-19 include a cough, fever, and shortness of breath.  Rusty Cooper will be the City of Kingman’s next Chief of Police. The 28-year Kingman Police Department (KPD) veteran currently serving as deputy Chief is excited to be selected to succeed retiring Chief Bob Devries.    “It is very special. It’s an honor.
