County sees slight slowdown in COVID-19 cases; face masks continue to be recommended

MOHAVE COUNTY – Recent weeks of sharp increases in COVID-19 cases in Mohave County slightly subsided last week. Department of Public Health Director Denise Burley told the Board of Supervisors Monday that she hopes the downward trend continues. “We can be happy to say that we’ve seen a decrease from previous weeks for the first time in months. City of Kingman launches recovery grant programs

KINGMAN – With the City of Kingman’s Council approved new fiscal year budget underway, exciting initiatives were approved to help our local business community recover during the recent economic downturn. Among the budgeted items are three fast-tracked programs launched in July of 2020; the Façade Improvement Program, the Parklet/Pedlet Incentive Program with $90,000 in combined funds, and $10,000 for a Kingman Tourism Facebook Marketing Grant. COVID-19 update: 30 new case, one death

MOHAVE COUNTY –  Late Sunday afternoon, the Mohave County Health Department (MCDPH) Nursing staff was notified of 30 new confirmed COVID-19 cases. There is one new confirmed death in the Kingman service area, a 90+ person from a previously reported case. Of the 30 new cases, 15 are in the Bullhead City service area. There are 9 in the Lake Havasu City service area. There are 5 in the Kingman service area and there is 1 in the North County service area. KINGMAN – The City of Kingman is taking a proactive approach in seeking voter approval in November to liquidate property it will not control until sometime next spring. The city council voted July 21 to bring the question to the people in the upcoming general election. City Manager Ron Foggin said the city can save about $30,000 by piggybacking the Kingman question on the November 3 general election ballot rather than having a stand-alone election early next year. “We’re just excited to be able to have this done now instead of having a special election early next year,” Foggin said….

The one death is that of a 90+ year age range person and it’s a case in the Bullhead City service area that was not previously reported.
