LAKE HAVASU CITY – Mohave County applied the wrong levy rate and over-billed owners of some 46,000 property parcels in the Lake Havasu Unified School District (LHUSD). The mistake was discovered after the County mailed out thousands of notices for annual property tax payments. “The Mohave County Financial Services Department made a scriveners error in entering the Class B Bond Debt service levy and rate,” said Financial Services Director Coral Loyd. “This was a clerical error in keying the data into the schedule.” Communications Director Roger Galloway noted the applied rate was more than 3 times what should have been assessed….

KINGMAN – A Colorado-based development company submitted the only bid for a 30-acre parcel at the Kingman Airport Industrial Park. KiernanWest LLC offered the minimum $1,975,000 required for the purchase in a bid opened Friday. Chief Operating Officer Mike O’Brien said the company isn’t ready to divulge details at this point. “We are doing a build to suit for a tenant that does package delivery,” O’Brien said. “Outside of that our tenant requires a high degree of confidentiality.” O’Brien said it may be a couple of months or more before project details are made public.
