Bullhead woman also charged with her boyfriend for abuse of her two daughters

BULLHEAD CITY — Not Guilty pleas have been entered for a Bullhead City woman charged with the abuse of her two young daughters, along with her boyfriend. Whether the mother of the alleged victims would be prosecuted was unclear and the subject of ongoing investigation at the time of the July 10 arrest of Matthew Cook, 27.

The mother of the 4 and 8-year-old girls, Sky Riehm, 27 was charged on September 9, nearly a month before her October 6 arraignment at the Mohave County Law and Justice Center in Kingman.

Allegations and photographs depicting neglect and abuse of the young sisters were brought to the attention of the Bullhead City police department. Riehm and Cook reportedly were uncooperative when the Department of Child Services and police investigators tried to conduct a welfare check on behalf of the children.

Detectives concluded that Cook was the primary caretaker of the girls and responsible for inflicting injuries upon them. Investigation revealing a mix of neglect and punishment resulted in Cook’s arrest and the girls being placed in the care and custody of the state.

Riehm’s next hearing will be a November 3 pre-trial conference before Judge Billy Sipe.
