Recycling group meets March 13

KINGMAN – A recently organized Kingman environmental group, Bring Your Own (BYO), has been established. BYO’s goal is to try to “de-trash” the city with particular emphasis on our relationship to plastics. BYO wants to familiarize individuals with the various ways available in the handling of plastics in their lives and their community.           The group’s goal is to encourage becoming  a more effective consumer by adopting BYO behavior, bringing your own BYO bag/container, for purchases, thus avoiding reliance on others  to provide such articles. Hopefully, BYO will expand and support  one’s customary activities to include a healthier and better relationship with plastic. An…

The expression of true love

A young man wrote a letter to sweetheart in which he stated how very much he loved her. He wrote: “I love you so much that I would walk across the burning sands of the hottest desert, just to be near you. I would scale the highest mountain; swim the deepest ocean if you commanded it. Love always and forever, John. P.S. I am coming to see you tonight, if it doesn’t rain.” Words used to describe one’s love for another are easily spoken and are often empty and void of meaning. How does one know if another’s declaration of…

Lingenfelter could become County Procurement Director, a position he held years ago. County Human Resources Director Ken Cunningham confirmed that a committee will interview Lingenfelter and another Procurement Director candidate from Florida on Monday morning. He said they topped the field of ten applicants for the position that Becky O’Brien will vacate when she retires in April. Cunningham said O’Brien has been with the county almost five years.
