Dear Editor, Mitch McConnell finally released his proposal this week. I’m sure you’re not surprised, but the proposal is bad. Simply put, it does not match the scale of the crisis. What McConnell is proposing for families and public education is woefully inadequate given the expenses schools are facing to reopen safely and people are facing just to stay afloat. New ASU director takes helm

LAKE HAVASU CITY – The new Director at ASU at Lake Havasu introduced herself during the July 28 Lake Havasu City Council meeting. Dr. Carla Harcleroad is a native Oregonian with about 17 years of experience in higher education administration. Harcleroad job-shadowed her predecessor for about three months before taking the helm of the local ASU campus on July 1. She said staff is making optional education delivery plans for the start of fall semester on August 20. Arizona Superior Court says Governor Ducey must give health clubs avenue to re-open

Victory Tuesday for Mountainside Fitness and other health clubs across Arizona who have been financially impacted by Arizona Governor Doug Ducey’s arbitrary shut downs. Up until today the Governor had not given gyms and fitness centers an avenue for re-opening. On Tuesday Arizona Superior Court Judge Timothy J. Thomason ruled Governor Ducey’s executive order to shut down gyms violated procedural due process and the Governor must give health clubs an avenue to re-open. Pegasus officials may address BOS in September KINGMAN – The public may learn more about a multi-billion-dollar data storage project that is eight months behind schedule sometime next month. The Pegasus Group Holdings and Plus Minus Power partnership announced in June 2019 that the $3 billion “Hive” would be operating about 12 miles south of Kingman before 2020. The partners last December announced a $5 billion second project phase dubbed “Firefly”. Nine months later, the economic development project is stalled without explanation.
