Two companies selected to provide guided diving on Lake Mead submerged B-29 sites

BOULDER CITY, Nev. – The National Park Service has issued permits to Las Vegas Scuba, LLC and Scuba Training and Technology Inc., to provide guided technical dives on the World War II B-29 vintage plane. The plane crashed into Lake Mead July 21, 1948, while engaged in high-altitude atmospheric research. MOHAVE COUNTY – The Mohave County Health Department (MCDPH) Nursing staff was notified this afternoon of 18 new confirmed COVID-19 cases. There are also two deaths from previously reported cases. One of the two deaths is a 50-59 year age range person in the Lake Havasu City service area. The other is a 70-79 person in the Bullhead City service area. DeArmond sentenced to five years

KINGMAN — Attorney General Mark Brnovich announced 65-year-old Michael Thomas DeArmond, a former caretaker who worked in the Kingman area, was sentenced to five years in prison for Escape and Theft. In 2018, DeArmond was originally arrested for violating the terms of his probation stemming from a 2015 case (CR-2015-00159). DeArmond was released from custody in May 2018, but ordered to return to the Mohave County Jail by a specific date. Man faces slew of charges after chase through Kingman

KINGMAN – A Kingman man faces an array of felony criminal charges following a vehicle and foot chase that ended with his arrest last week. Police Chief Rusty Cooper said the incident began when an officer attempted to stop a Hyundai Tucson for a traffic offense committed about 11:50 p.m., Thursday, August 6 in the 800 block of Airway Avenue. Two injured in house fire

LAKE HAVASU CITY – Two occupants were injured in a residential structure fire in Lake Havasu City Monday. Lake Havasu firefighters responded at 7:30 a.m. to the incident in the 2000 block of Guest Lane. “The first arriving fire company reported a large fire from the back side and throughout the inside of the residence,’’ a news release said. “Firefighters had to remain outside the house to fight the fire due to extreme conditions.” Crews gained control of the blaze in about 30 minutes.
