Consequences follow premeditated assault on junior high campus

BULLHEAD CITY – An assault on the Fox Creek Junior High School campus may lead to criminal charges against at least one student, and disciplinary action against a number of others, school officials announced Thursday.  Initial reports indicate that one girl had planned in advance to attack another, and arranged for a group of students to not only witness but also record the assault Thursday afternoon. Arizona Army National Guard troops identified in drone strike, Jordan

PHOENIX – The Arizona National Guard 1st Battalion, 158th Infantry Regiment, Bushmasters, were identified to be in the area during the January 28th unmanned aerial drone attack in northeast Jordan, near the Syria border. There have been no reported Arizona National Guard deaths. Landstuhl Regional Medical Center (LRMC) received three U.S. servicemembers who were injured in the drone attack.  One of the injured servicemembers is reported in critical condition, however, all three are reported to be stable. Reduced water releases at Davis Dam today

Due to recent rainstorms and lower than expected water demand in southern California and Arizona, the Bureau of Reclamation is temporarily reducing water releases from Davis Dam, north of Laughlin, Nevada, on the lower Colorado River. The lower releases are necessary to maintain a safe water surface elevation at Lake Havasu. Beginning Friday, Feb. 2, hourly releases from Davis Dam, will be reduced to approximately 2,300 cubic feet per second. These lower releases are scheduled from midnight through 8 a.m. Mountain Standard Time (MST) but may be extended depending on existing system conditions. Peace demonstrations suspended due to weather

Dear Editor, Typically there is a 4 to 4:30 p.m.  support Ukraine Peace Vigil at Locomotive Park here in Kingman on the first of each month. However, due to inclement weather conditions such as cold, wind and rain, the heat dome this past summer, and health challenges and this scheduled peace vigil  has been disrupted since last summer.  Rain, cold temps and wind are in the forecast for Feb. as well.
