Kingman Area Literacy Program celebrates 10 years

KINGMAN – This September, the Kingman Area Literacy Program (KALP) is celebrating 10 years of providing 100% free tutoring services to adults and children in reading, English language learning, and GED test preparation. Over the past decade, KALP volunteers have donated thousands of hours to people from all walks of life with the goal of improving their lives through literacy. September is also National Literacy Month and KALP will be distributing over $5,000 worth of free children’s books at different Kingman events throughout the month. Boil Water Advisory Lifted For I-40 Water System Customers

MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave County Public Works Director Steve Latoski announced this afternoon “After rigorous flushing and disinfecting through the past week, our latest samples came back negative/clear to which we are lifting the boil water advisory for the I-40 Water System customers this afternoon.” He also mentioned that “our disinfection and system flushing exercises continued through the week without any negative developments.” There had been an extended advisory period due to certain meticulous coordination with the Prison that involved work to isolate the Prison’s stored water while staff flushed the system through pressure from adjacent Well #7.  Latoski said…

MCC and Air Control Home Services partner on workforce pathway 

MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave Community College and Air Control Home Services have entered into a historic partnership to help teach students skills needed for the future workforce.   The College and Air Control Home Services, out of Lake Havasu, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Tuesday that states both will work together with the goal of providing a skilled workforce eligible for employment with Air Control Home Services. Pavement Preservation Projects to Continue with Phase II

KINGMAN – Beginning the first week of September and continuing through the month of October, the City of Kingman will be conducting pavement preservation projects throughout the city. Grading, different roadway seal applications, and striping will be completed during different phases throughout the two-month period. The tentative areas will be posted weekly to the City of Kingman social media pages. Work is expected to be completed as scheduled, weather permitting.
