Havasu flips Froslie for Foggin

LAKE HAVASU CITY – Fired Kingman City Manager Ron Foggin has taken a temporary job in Lake Havasu City. Foggin began serving as interim Public Works Director Monday after 25-year veteran Havasu employee Greg Froslie was apparently dismissed. “It is best to adhere to city practice and refrain from providing any comments about any personnel matters,” Lake Havasu City Manager Jess Knudson said, essentially declining to clarify Froslie’s exit. KINGMAN – Bring your car down for a fun time on Saturday, Nov. 18 for Chillin’ on Beale.  Classics, customs, creatives, motorcycles, EVs, you name it will be on display. Cruise on down to Beale Street for music, good food, and down-home Kingman atmosphere! Events begin at 3 p.m. and only ends when the cars go home. Bird causes outage in MEC service area 

BULLHEAD CITY – On Sunday, November 5 at 7:11 a.m., a bird made contact with a primary line, causing the breaker to open and damaging two fuses and a transformer. This outage affected 2,371 members in Mohave Electric Cooperative’s (MEC) service area expanding from Marina Boulevard on the north to Lause Road on the south and Riverview Drive on the west to Oatman Road on the east. MEC crews responded, replaced the damaged equipment, and restored power to the majority of members at 8:34 a.m. After further repairs, the remaining 67 members were restored at 9:30 a.m. Outage restoration is important…

Treasure Sale at the museum

KINGMAN – The Mohave Museum, 400 W. Beale St., is having a Treasure Sale in their parking lot on Saturday, December 2 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.  There will be lots of one-of-a-kind items like doilies and baby clothes, also vintage cameras, furniture and other items.  All proceeds go to the Museum for in-house projects and exhibits.  Monetary donations also accepted.

Historic first: Bighorns Men’s Soccer announces local lineup for upcoming season

MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave Community College Head Men’s Soccer Coach Camilo Valencia has announced the local lineup for the squad’s inaugural season in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). Bullhead and Lake Havasu cities will both be represented on the pitch come the season’s start in August 2024 with the signings of Leo Cortinez, Yahir Acero and Jose Alvarado. Cortinez, a 5’11 Forward, graduated from Mohave High School in Bullhead City in 2022. Cortinez was born in Guerrero, Mexico, to Leonardo Cortinez and Lidia Eriza, and now resides in Bullhead City.
